About Us

Berit Legrand and Jacqueline Bond have been working together for 8 years, having met in France when Jacqueline was looking to do some meaningful environmental work and Berit had just started TAF - The Animal Fund.

Over the past decade, the charity TAF has prioritised ocean conservation, with a particular focus on safeguarding whales and dolphins. Under Berit's leadership, TAF has expanded its global presence, establishing bases in Monaco, France, the UK, Denmark, and Norway. The organisation is renowned for its proactive approach and educational initiatives aimed at ocean preservation. TAF collaborates with over 67 schools and 19 universities worldwide, organising regular sports and health events and conferences complemented by educational exhibitions. Additionally, they conduct public beach and ocean clean-ups with an educational twist to raise awareness about the myriad challenges confronting our ocean.

 

After starting to work with TAF, Jacqueline Bond completed an MSc in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and has stood for the Green Party of England and Wales as an MP and local candidate in London. She has been a proactive environmental campaigner, working with local and national environmental charities, NGOs and activist groups to end the devastating loss of biodiversity and extinction via fossil fuel emissions, plastic pollution.

Why we started this

 

After years of collective environmental work, we've witnessed a strong desire and effort to enact meaningful change. While many individuals are eager to see progress, there remains a crucial need for education on effective pathways to achieve it.

We aim to convene a gathering of minds to share diverse expertise and connect with individuals from various backgrounds who may offer solutions to pressing issues. Collaboration is essential, as isolated efforts often prove inadequate. With experience spanning charities, ecological research, environmental advocacy, business, and education, we've encountered inspiring individuals. We recognize that comprehensive change must be driven from multiple angles—top-down, bottom-up, and through lateral communication between businesses and consumers.

By expanding our network, we seek to unite stakeholders who may not have otherwise crossed paths, facilitating discussions on impactful initiatives and expediting their implementation. Our goal is to collaborate on projects with tangible, achievable objectives that significantly enhance both human and oceanic well-being.
