Our initiative is about moving beyond awareness to action.

Coral Reef Island

The ocean is facing unprecedented challenges — rising temperatures, rampant plastic pollution, overfishing including via ghost nets, oil spills, chemical runoff, collisions and noise pollution from shipping traffic, and now the threat of deep sea mining.

All of this is resulting in an alarming decline of marine life, upon which life on land depends.

Many of us recognise these issues and are eager to help; however, despite our awareness and willingness, the situation continues to deteriorate. That’s why we are forming a collaborative network of individuals from all walks of life who are committed to acting differently to protect the ocean.

Join us in making a tangible difference.

We can turn awareness into action and safeguard our ocean for future generations.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a dynamic and diverse network of passionate individuals, including climate and ocean scientists, community leaders, coaches, industry professionals, associations, and everyday citizens, all dedicated to finding and implementing real solutions. We aim to overcome the obstacles hindering meaningful action and foster a collaborative environment where informed, honest discussions lead to tangible results. By joining forces, we believe we can make a significant impact and drive the changes needed to safeguard our ocean for future generations.

Our first event at Steiner House in January 2025

January 9th UFO had its first meeting, to mark the beginning of healthy cooperation and alliances with the goal to protect the ocean.
We had speakers across the board discussing their projects, skills and targets for future action.

This is the first step in forging useful and meaningful relationships and collaborations to protect the ocean from devastation.

Here are some of the stories we heard, what obstacles to action they have encountered, and how they have found solutions.

Join us in October for our next event
